Primary Empathy Training Camp (March 5 & 6)
Purpose: Understand how empathy works and ensure the basic skillset to help others. This training camp is a required course for TA at NTHU's Service Learning. Only limited seats are reserved for the member of VolunteerLink Taiwan.
Professional volunteer training has been an important core value of VolunteerLink Taiwan since it was founded. In 2015, VolunteerLink Taiwan had accomplished 8 public training programs focus on Nonviolent Communication, International Volunteering, and Project Design of Education & Volunteer Services. VolunteerLink Taiwan also partnered with NTHU, NCTU, and UST to train volunteers whom would do their services abroad, and the teaching assistants of the Service Learning courses.
In 2016, due to the current situation where most volunteers lack prior professional trainings and theoretical applications, VolunteerLink Taiwan will focus on bridging our key training aspects with two of our specific projects. We expect to build a platform that offers relevant trainings and hands-on experiences for our participants. The participant is expected to fully acknowledge the project background in advane, to assess the needs of the local and/or the host community, and to improve the service quality and results. Ultimately, the purpose of VolunteerLink Taiwan is to promote volunteer services that are mutually beneficial for the society.
VolunteerLink Taiwan was founded in June 2014, and was officially registered in Taiwan as a nonprofit organization in June 2015. We aim firstly at providing profession volunteer training program; secondly, at evaluating service projects and participating parites. We are named with the prospects to link Taiwan with the world not only through professional volunteer trainings and pratical applications, but also sharing resources and uncovering needs.
Taiwan Motor Neuron Disease Association has co-organized two successful movie screenings with VolunteerLink Taiwan. We also partnered with the community development association in developing a program that guided the elders about using smart phones in daily communications. We are very looking forward to parter or co-host events with more groups, or to train volunteers and meeting relevant service requests. Please send a message to VolunteerLink Taiwan's email!
